REMINDER: Renew Your Residential Parking Permit Online Before Apr. 30
Posted April 27, 2026Guttenberg has engaged a new vendor for parking software and implemented changes aimed at helping to ease the parking crunch within the municipality.
The new software system is currently available for you to renew your parking permit online and permits must be renewed before Thursday, Apr. 30. Anyone currently registered for parking permits will automatically be transferred to the new system. If there is an email associated with their account, they will receive an email from the Town notifying them to update their parking permit. Others can register through the portal at guttenbergnjonline.parkvantage.com, available on the town website.
Parking permits will now be valid for a period of two years instead of one, relieving car owners of having to renew as frequently. A new sliding-scale fee schedule has been implemented, impacting only owners of multiple vehicles. The first car registered will cost $20, then $40 for the second, $80 for third, and $160 for each car above that.
Residents with driveways are required to park in the driveway rather than on the street, and this will be strictly enforced going forward to free up street spaces. Residents with driveways will only be able to purchase street parking permits if they have more cars than fit in the driveway.
The same applies to multi-family dwellings with assigned parking, such as a garage. Residents with assigned parking spots may not purchase street parking permits for the same vehicle.
More improvements are coming as the new software is implemented and upgraded.
