Fifty Guttenberg seniors enjoyed a delicious Mediterranean meal when the town hosted its monthly birthday luncheon on Friday, Jul. 10, 2026. Everyone ordered big, overstuffed wraps loaded with gyro meat, shrimp, or chicken, accompanied by fantastic Greek fries.

Guttenberg took over a full room of the restaurant, filling more than half a dozen tables and enjoying the delightful Mediterranean ambiance and the superb service.

Everyone joined in singing happy birthday to the nine seniors born in July, after which it was time for dessert – as usual, a cake from Ali Cake Decorations in Guttenberg, this time a tasty strawberry.

Council Members Richard Delafuente, Monica Fundora, and John Habermann greeted the hungry attendees and helped serve the meal, along with Maria Delafuente from senior services. The event was planned and coordinated by Senior Services Director Belkis Rubio on behalf of Mayor Wayne Zitt and the Town Council, as one of the many activities offered to benefit our seniors.
