3,000 Strange Eggs Discovered in Waterfront Park
Posted April 10, 2026Waterfront Park was the site of a huge expedition on Saturday, Apr. 4, when hundreds of intrepid young adventurers set out on a quest to gather a variety of rather peculiar eggs. At a given signal, the youngsters charged onto the lawn en masse to scoop up as many of the multicolored items as they could carry.
Inside the eggs were a variety of toys, treats, stickers, and trinkets, provided free courtesy of Mayor Wayne Zitt and the Town Council and the Guttenberg Recreation Department. Ten lucky seekers discovered golden eggs, entitling them to special gift baskets loaded with sports items and other goodies.
Kids raced happily across the lawn throughout the afternoon and swarmed over the playground as a live DJ provided an upbeat soundtrack and the Easter Bunny himself posed for photos and handed out hugs. Also extremely popular were the face painting station and free balloon creations.
Council Members Richard Delafuente, Monica Fundora, and John Haberman, along with Town Administrator Cosmo Cirillo and Recreation Director Jorge Gomez, helped hand out the treats, including free chocolate bunnies for everyone. With perfect spring weather, Guttenberg’s 10th annual Easter Fest was easily the biggest and most successful one to date.
