Eighteen-year-old Guttenberg resident Laura Galeano Arcila was honored by Mayor Wayne Zitt and the Town Council for her outstanding achievement as four-time Hudson County Interscholastic Athletic League Girls’ Tennis First Singles Champion. Laura, a student at County Prep, won the championship in 2022, 2023, 2024, and again in 2025.

 

The mayor and council presented her with a beautiful plaque at a public ceremony on Jan. 5 in the Gerald R. Drasheff Community Center, with many family members and a large audience in attendance.

 

The plaque reads, “Your dedication, excellence, and competitive spirit have made history and brought great pride to your school and community. Congratulations on this remarkable accomplishment!”
