Mayor & Three Council Members Sworn in for Four More Years
Posted January 09, 2026Mayor Wayne Zitt and three members of the Guttenberg Town Council took the oath of office for another four years at a public ceremony in the Gerald R. Drasheff Community Center on Monday, Jan. 5.
The mayor and Council Members Richard Delafuente, Monica Fundora, and John Habermann were all re-elected to office this past November. They were officially sworn in at the first council meeting of 2026. Also reappointed for an additional term was Cosmo Cirillo as municipal clerk.
Judge Michael Jimenez performed the swearing-in ceremony. Mayor Zitt’s daughter Isabella led the Pledge of Allegiance and Police Officer Emily Dubon sang the National Anthem before a large and enthusiastic audience that filled the seats and bleachers in the auditorium.
