The menu included not only free beverages but soft bagels from Bagel Box and fresh corn muffins when officers from the Guttenberg Police Department visited the senior building at 7005 Boulevard East to share “Coffee with a Cop.”

 

October 1 is National Coffee with a Cop Day, and the GPD took the opportunity to meet with a room full of senior residents and talk to them about any concerns or issues they had. Mayor Wayne Zitt introduced the informal event, which was hosted by Police Chief Frank Pelaez.

 

Numerous officers attended and chatted with residents on Wednesday morning, Oct. 1. The event was planned and arranged with the assistance of Senior Services Director Belkis Rubio.
