Guttenberg Designated a ‘Film Ready’ Community
Posted August 22, 2025The New Jersey Film Commission recently announced the new class of film ready communities, and Guttenberg is included. What does that mean? It means Guttenberg has been added to a roster of communities that are welcoming to the film industry, with locations, resources, and regulations to entice filmmakers to our town.
According to the NJ Film Commission, “The [Film Ready] program prepares communities to accommodate movie and television producers and effectively market themselves as film destinations, bolstering the state’s standing as a national leader in film and television production.”
Film Ready New Jersey is a five-step certification and marketing program that educates municipalities on the basics of motion picture and television production and sets basic standards for attracting filmmaking. Film Ready workshops provide training and guidance from industry professionals, local mayors, and Film Commission staff, covering topics such as the economic impact of hosting on-location filming, ordinances and permitting, opportunities for small businesses, and expanding film infrastructure.
“We are proud that Guttenberg has been recognized as a Film Ready community by the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission,” said Mayor Wayne Zitt. “This designation not only highlights our town’s unique character and charm, but also opens the door to exciting opportunities for local businesses, residents, and the entire community. We look forward to welcoming film and television productions to Guttenberg and showcasing all that our town has to offer.”
