Guttenberg’s Junior Police Academy is a tremendously popular summer activity for kids entering grades 5 through 7 (ages 10-14). Applications are available now to participate in this great program and get a taste of real law enforcement training this summer.

 

The Junior Police Academy is an intensive six-day course designed to operate like an actual police academy. The goal is to educate select Guttenberg students in police procedures and give them a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to succeed in the profession of law enforcement.

 

Cadets will learn fingerprinting, forensics, tools of the police, and many other police-related topics, and will receive live demos and more. This year’s Junior Police Academy will begin on Friday, Aug. 8 followed by a full week from Aug. 11 to 15 at various locations, including exciting and educational field trips.

 

Applications are available at Anna L. Klein School or can be picked up from the lobby of the Police Department at 6808 Park Avenue during normal business hours.
