Chocolates, Flowers, and a Hearty Breakfast Greet Guttenberg Seniors for Mother’s Day
Posted May 09, 2025Seniors walked away from Guttenberg’s Mother’s Day Breakfast on Thursday, May 8 with bellies full and arms laden with gifts. Mayor Wayne Zitt introduced Sen. Brian Stack, who made a brief appearance to wish everyone a happy holiday and pose for photos with individuals, leaving behind a table full of potted flowers and boxes of chocolates for everyone to take home.
But first came the meal, and the plates were loaded. There were scrambled eggs, potatoes, and cooked ham from The Brothers Grocery & Deli on Park Avenue, along with croissants and morning beverages, with tasty cupcakes for dessert. Serving the meal were Council Members Richard Delafuente, Monica Fundora, John Habermann, and William Hokien, Town Administrator Cosmo Cirillo, Community Affairs Coordinator Marisol Montanez, and various DPW employees and other volunteers.
The community room at 7005 Boulevard East was jam-packed for the event, with extra tables set up amidst the festive Mother’s Day decorations. Senior Services Director Belkis Rubio arranged and coordinated the wonderful party.
