Mayor & Volunteers Shave Their Heads to Raise $5K for Kids with Cancer
Posted March 21, 2025There were nine new Kojaks on Saturday morning, Mar. 15, 2025 when Mayor Wayne Zitt invited the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to hold their annual Guttenberg fundraiser at The Office at 6800 Park Avenue.
Nine volunteers had their heads shaved at the event, raising nearly $5,000 to help conquer kids’ cancer. The mayor was among the nine saying goodbye to their hair, along with Councilman William Hokien.
Each of the participants was sponsored by friends or family as they shaved their heads in solidarity with children who typically lose their hair during cancer treatment.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer- and donor-powered charity committed to supporting the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. This year is their 25th anniversary.
