Popular Class in Civics & Citizenship Returns in December
Posted December 05, 2024The Guttenberg Resource Center’s popular course in Civics & Citizenship is returning on Mondays beginning Dec. 9 and running through Jan. 6. (No class on Dec. 23.)
Designed and taught by Guttenberg resident Max Koppelman, the bilingual course provides a solid grounding in American politics and political history, allowing residents to better understand how government works and how they can get involved.
Koppelman, a teenage high school student, has worked as a clerk for Senator Brian Stack and lived for a time in a rural household in Spain. His passions for language and government led him to create the course to help inspire civic engagement and participation in government.
Classes will focus on the Constitution, Bill of Rights, voting and elections, current events, and more. They will take place at the Guttenberg Resource Center, located downstairs in the Galaxy Towers Mall, 7002 Boulevard East.
To register, visit www.NBPL.org/calendar, or just drop by for one or more of the sessions.
