Cakes Have a New Boss in Guttenberg
Posted June 28, 2024Cake lovers, rejoice! Guttenberg has a new bakery, and the public response has been tremendous. Mayor Wayne Zitt and the Town Council cut the ribbon officially welcoming Ali Cake Decorations to Guttenberg on Friday, Jun. 21, 2024 with an open-house party afterward featuring free samples, live music, balloon creations, cartoon characters, and more.
Owner Alibet Teijido began baking when she was pregnant during the pandemic. Her creations proved immensely popular with family and friends, and soon she had a business producing custom cakes. Through enthusiastic referrals it quickly grew to the point where a home kitchen couldn’t contain it.
As a Guttenberg resident, Alibet was determined to open up shop in the town she loves. After completely renovating the premises with the help of her husband, Miguel Gutierrez, she launched her business at 6818 Kennedy Boulevard. Already she has expanded beyond cakes into pastries, empanadas, Cuban cold salads, and other delectable goodies.
Among the top favorites are her special comboflan, dessert shots, and the beautiful, meticulously custom-crafted specialty cakes. If you can imagine it, she can create it.
Ali Cake Decorations is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit them at Alicakedecorations.com
