Mayor Zitt and a Leprechaun Team Up to Serve Big, Tasty St. Pat’s Breakfast to Seniors
Posted March 15, 2024Guttenberg played host to a real live leprechaun – albeit a wee bit taller than the standard issue – at a special breakfast for seniors on Friday, Mar. 15. A tasty St. Patrick’s Day meal of green bagels, corned beef, scrambled eggs, home fries, and croissants was provided free, accompanied by juices, coffee, and dessert.
In addition to the sprightly leprechaun, who flitted about distributing lucky gold coins (with a chocolate center), the event was hosted by Mayor Wayne Zitt and Council Members Monica Fundora and Richard Delafuente, and featured special guests including Town Administrator Cosmo Cirillo, Housing Authority Executive Director Ruddys Andrade, Revenue & Finance Director John Di Stefano, Senior Nutrition Coordinator Jolene Colombani, and others, all of whom helped serve the meal and keep everyone smiling.
The event was planned and coordinated by Director of Senior Services Belkis Rubio, who decorated the room in shamrocks and other seasonal greenery. The tasty food came from Brothers Deli on Bergenline Avenue in Guttenberg.
