In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Guttenberg was proud to be among the Hudson County municipalities hosting the annual Salvadorian Parade on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023.

Guttenberg Mayor Wayne Zitt and Councilman John Habermann were among the marchers, along with Town Administrator Cosmo Cirillo, joining numerous local and regional officials and representatives from various Hispanic organizations.

Dozens of decorated vehicles and floats and many hundreds of marchers in colorful costumes made their way down Bergenline Avenue through North Bergen, Guttenberg, West New York, and Union City in honor of El Salvador’s Independence Day on September 15. Bands played, dancers danced, cheerleaders performed, and stilt walkers wowed the huge crowd, many of whom were dressed in the blue and white colors of the Salvadorian flag.
