The annual Salvadorian Parade will march down Bergenline Avenue on Sunday, Sept. 17, attracting a crowd of enthusiastic spectators and supporters dressed in bright blue and waving Salvadorian flags. Many Guttenberg dignitaries will march in the parade, alongside representatives from neighboring communities.

 

El Salvador achieved its independence from Spain when the Central American Independence Act was signed on September 15, 1821. To celebrate this momentous anniversary, colorful floats, elaborate costumes, and festive music will fill Bergenline Avenue as the parade proceeds from Braddock Park in North Bergen through Guttenberg to 43rd Street in Union City.

 

Parking will be prohibited on Bergenline Avenue from 85th Street south along the parade route and Bergenline Avenue will be closed to traffic during the day on Sunday.
