Hudson Church Hosts Its First Outreach Festival
Posted August 24, 2023Hudson Church hosted their first Outreach Festival on Saturday, Aug. 19. Madison Street between 68th and 70th was closed to traffic for the event, with rides and vendors set up in the street and on the sidewalks for kids and adults.
Many families attended the community event, where there were balloon animals, face-painting, a wellness stand, voter registration booth, and tons of free food. Representatives from the church and others spoke from a podium in the parking lot and invited audience members to come forward.
Volunteers from the church were everywhere, interacting with the crowd and handing out literature. Other attractions include a rock-climbing tower, a trackless train ride, a dunk tank, and a live podcast from Keep It Real.
Mayor Wayne Zitt attended to greet the crowd, as did Council Members Monica Fundora and Richard Delafuente. North Hudson Community Action Corporation were among the vendors offering great giveaways.
