Dinner, Dancing, Partying & Prizes Enliven Senior Valentine Event
Posted February 13, 2023Guttenberg seniors enjoyed a full evening of entertainment at the town’s annual Senior Valentine’s Day Dinner on Friday, Feb. 10 at 7005 Boulevard East. First and foremost was a delicious meal of Spanish favorites, capped by yummy cakes and ice cream. On top of that, Javier the violinist serenaded the crowd with a selection of popular hits, resulting in a jam-packed dance floor.
Then it was time for the raffle, with beautiful gift baskets designed by resident Michelle Ribera, along with a wide variety of items donated by Kearny Bank. Finally, there were five $50 gift certificates generously donated by local jeweler the Diamond Doctor, located at 6815 Park Avenue.
The event was organized and overseen by Senior Services Coordinator Belkis Rubio. Mayor Wayne Zitt and Council Members Richard Delafuente, Monica Fundora, John Habermann, William Hokien, and Juana Malave helped serve the food, along with Public Events Coordinator Marisol Montanez, students from Bergen Catholic High School, and numerous other volunteers.
Many attendees wore red to get into the holiday spirit and match the theme and decorations.
