Remember to Apply by Feb. 28 for Up to $1,500 in ANCHOR Tax Relief
Posted February 01, 2023More than three million NJ homeowners and renters are eligible for property tax relief under the ANCHOR program. Many of them have still not applied to receive tax relief of up to $1,500 per household.
The deadline for the ANCHOR Tax Relief Program has been extended a second time to Tuesday, Feb. 28 to ensure all eligible residents can benefit from the program.
To be eligible for this year's benefit, you must have occupied your primary residence on Oct. 1, 2019. You must also file (or be exempt from) NJ income taxes. Tax relief is available according to the following criteria, based on 2019 income:
- Homeowners with income under $150,000 can receive a $1,500 rebate
- Homeowners with income between $150,000 and $250,000 can receive a $1,000 rebate
- Renters with income under $150,000 can receive a $450 payment
