Many Guttenberg residents took advantage of free document shredding services offered on Saturday, Apr. 30, 2022. The Hudson County Improvement Authority (HCIA) brought a truck equipped with an industrial shredder to the Guttenberg DPW and invited residents to drive or walk up with documents for secure disposal.

Items were dumped into a bin and then lifted into the shredder, with a video screen monitoring the process so participants could have the assurance of watching their documents being ground into slivers.

Trained, licensed, and bonded document destruction specialists handled the equipment to ensure safety and security. Residents went home with the confidence that their confidential or sensitive documents were completely destroyed.

HCIA travels throughout the county to ensure all residents have access to free document shredding. Shredding days take place twice a year in Guttenberg. Watch this space for an announcement about the next shredding day in the fall.
