Two Guttenberg police officers were promoted at a ceremony in Town Hall on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021.

Brian Acosta was promoted to a regular police officer after serving as a full-time Class 2 officer for almost exactly one year.

Ricardo Acosta was promoted from part-time Class 2 to full-time Class 2 officer after about eight months with the department.

Mayor Wayne Zitt swore in the two officers, joined by the Town Council, Public Safety Commissioner Robert White, and numerous other police and family members.

This brings the department to a total of 27 full-time officers, plus one full-time Class 2 and four part-time Class 2 officers.
