Guttenberg to hold Two Memorial Day Events on May 31
Posted May 21, 2021Guttenberg is honoring Memorial Day this year with its annual ceremony at Monument Park on Monday, May 31. The ceremony will be followed a summer kickoff event for kids at Veterans Park.
The holiday events begin at 11 a.m. in Monument Park, at 70th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard East. Mayor Wayne Zitt and the Town Council will host the annual Memorial Day tribute, commencing with a service commemorating those who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
The ceremony will be followed by a gathering from 2 to 4 p.m. in Guttenberg’s Veterans Park, located next to Anna L. Klein School at 69th Street between Hudson Avenue and Palisade Avenue. The celebratory event marks the kickoff to summer for Guttenberg’s children. There will be free hot dogs and music from a live DJ.
Both events are sponsored by the township and open to all residents. Masks and social distancing are required.
