Guttenberg Arts Gallery Presents ‘Biomorphic’
Posted March 05, 2021“Biomorphic,” an exhibition of work by artist Robert Lach, will be on view from March 6, 2021 to March 28, 2021 at the Guttenberg Arts Gallery. To promote social distancing Guttenberg Arts is open by appointment only and virtually on their website. Patrons can schedule their visit or view the virtual gallery at guttenbergarts.org/exhibitions.
Robert Lach’s sculptures are based on the architecture and anatomy of nature. Lach constructs green habitats that reference the design, form, and structural patterns found in the natural world. By experimenting and manipulating everyday recycled objects into art material, sculptures are constructed into units or multiples mimicking the biology of living organisms.
Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, Lach is a multidisciplinary artist who graduated from New Jersey City University with a BFA in sculpture. The local landscape inspires and fuels his art practice – from the state’s post-industrial north to the beauty of its southern wildlife areas and beaches. Found objects, recycled materials, and gathered detritus from various environments are muse for sculpture, photography, installation, and public art projects including the Atlantic sculpture park in Atlantic City and The Gateway Project in Newark, NJ.
