Locate Your Polling Place and More in New App
Posted October 19, 2020Hudson County is the first county in the State of New Jersey to offer residents the ability to locate their polling place by simply entering their registered voting address into a 2020 general election voting website at vote2020.hcnj.us.
Although voting for the 2020 general election in New Jersey will be conducted primarily through vote-by-mail ballots because of the social distancing guidelines instituted by the CDC and the State of New Jersey, a limited number of physical polling locations will still be accessible. The polling places, generally located in public facilities, will be used for provisional ballot voting, ADA compliant machine voting, and as vote-by-mail drop-off locations on Election Day for those voters assigned to that polling location.
Due to the decreased number of polling places, voters’ polling locations may not be the same locations utilized in past elections. By visiting vote2020.hcnj.us and scrolling down to the “Voting at a Polling Place” section, users can enter an address or facility in the search bar or click a location directly on the map to locate their polling site location and hours of operation. Driving directions are also available by selecting “Directions.”
Constituents also have the ability to digitally preview their sample ballot associated with that polling site and access critical election information and directions, such as the location of the closest vote-by-mail official drop box.
