New Public Parking Lot Opens in Guttenberg
Posted January 08, 2020Residents in the vicinity of Anna L. Klein School now have a new option for free overnight and weekend parking. Mayor Wayne Zitt and the Guttenberg Town Council have opened a new parking lot adjacent to Veteran’s Park with about 20 spots.
The new spots are reserved for teacher parking during the day, and resident parking at night. Visitor parking is strictly prohibited; these spots are intended for Guttenberg residents only. A valid resident parking sticker is needed during the hours specified for public parking.
Spots are available for residents on weekdays from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. and on weekends from 5 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
This is Guttenberg’s first open municipal parking lot. The town lot on 71st Street offers reserved, paid parking only, while this new free lot is intended for the benefit of local residents.
