O2 Restaurant Brings Delicious Korean BBQ to Guttenberg
Posted March 26, 2019Guttenberg has a beautiful new restaurant offering a savory new food option. O2 has brought all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ to the Galaxy Mall, in the location previously occupied by the Green Kitchen.
The space has been completely renovated with a sleek design featuring BBQ grills at every table. The special “sot tuk keong” or “cast-iron pot lid” grills were imported from Korea and offer a traditional way of cooking shared or individual meals.
Co-owners Sung Hee Im and Sung Ho Cho, with backgrounds in food production and management, combined forces to create a successful O2 restaurant in Bayside Queens. Guttenberg is their second location, with a third coming soon to Westbury, Long Island.
Their goal is to share the many essences of Korean culture, from the flavorful food to native alcohols like flavored soju and makgeolli (rice wine) to the colorful Korean entertainment that plays on the banks of TVs scattered decoratively throughout the interior.
Mayor Wayne Zitt cut the ribbon for the official grand opening on Thursday, Mar. 21, 2019 accompanied by Councilman Richie Delafuente, Town Administrator Cosmo Cirillo, Town Attorney Michael Jimenez, and a large crowd of friends and supporters.
In addition to their signature all-you-can-eat BBQ and full bar, O2 offers two different lunch menus from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Vegetarian options are also available. Open 7 days a week, they can be found online at www.02bbq.com.
