REQUIREMENTS FOR A MARRIAGE LICENSE

1. Bride must be a resident of Guttenberg and both the bride and groom must be at least 18 years of age.

2. Bride must show proof of being a Guttenberg resident, i.e. Driver’s License, a bill (showing bride’s name and Guttenberg address) or a notarized letter from the landlord.

3. Bride and groom must provide birth certificate and passport.

4. Social security number (if applicable)

5. When applying, you must have one (1) witness with you.

6. After you apply, there is a 72 hour waiting period before the license can be issued to you.

7. Must provide name, address, and phone number of the Officiate (Priest, Mayor, Judge, etc.)

8. If divorced, must bring “Final Divorce Decree” papers, showing the Docket number and Judge’s signature.

9. If widowed, must bring a certified copy of former spouse’s death certificate.

10. Marriage License Applications are taken Monday through Friday, between 9:30 am 12:30 pm only.

11. Marriage License fee is $28.00 (money order only) and is payable at time of application.
