MUNICIPAL AUDITOR

TOWN OF GUTTENBERG REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
FROM CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTING FIRMS INTERESTED IN
SERVING AS MUNICIPAL AUDITOR TO THE TOWN OF GUTTENBERG
FOR THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 1, 2012 TO DECEMBER 31, 2012

Introduction

The Town of Guttenberg (“Town”) is a municipality of Hudson County, New Jersey . Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5 et seq, the Town seeks Requests for Qualifications (“RFQ”) from certified public accounting firms that wish to provide municipal auditing services to the Town as directed by the Town Administrator or other appropriate officials within the Town. The successful firm must have significant experience in representing New Jersey municipalities in all aspects of municipal auditing.

The successful firm will provide the Town with financial auditing services including but not limited to the audit of financial statements of the Town in the presentment of a complete audit of the Town of Guttenberg. This audit will give an opinion as to whether the Town’s financial statements are fairly presented in conformity with the accounting principals and practices prescribed by the Division of Local Government Services, Department of Community Affairs, State of New Jersey. The audit will be conducted with generally accepted standard auditing practices. The audit should include but not limited to tests of accounting records of the Town and other procedures utilized by the various departments. Finally, the audit will provide reports on internal controls related to the financial statements of the various departments of the Town to ensure they are in compliance with all the laws and regulations and other provisions or grant agreements.
