Part-time Community Affairs Coordinator


The Part-time Community Affairs Coordinator is responsible for the overall administrative and communication functions, and event coordination in support of the Town of Guttenberg Community Affairs, particularly as it relates to senior services, special events, community outreach, public relations, and fundraising. This individual is also responsible for the utilization of volunteers for the completion of special projects and to enhance relationships with community partner organizations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct the Town of Guttenberg Community Affairs Department with timely development and implementation of effective fundraising and communication strategies and tactics.
  • Content development and production of the Town of Guttenberg communications pieces such as email newsletter, announcements for the Guttenberg Brief, social media postings, mailings to constituents, news releases, monthly calendar and briefing materials.
  • Coordinate and oversee the development and implementation of senior services throughout Town
  • Play integral role in planning and implementing events.
  • Work with volunteer committees.
  • Maintain Town of Guttenberg constituent database.


  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills: MS Office Suite required;
  • Comfortable with technology and social media platforms.
  • Self-directed individual, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to successfully coordinate multiple initiatives.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with communications, fundraising, public relations and administrative responsibilities. Preference for experience in municipal government.
