The extensive renovations done to the lake in Braddock Park and the surrounding area have been completed. County Executive Thomas DeGise cut the ribbon on Monday, Nov. 27 to mark the completion of the project. He was joined by Mayor Nicholas Sacco, Congressman Albio Sires, Freeholder Anthony Vainieri, and other local dignitaries.
Repairs included restoration of the paths and walkways around the lake, which have been opened to pedestrians. Wildlife is already enjoying the upgraded lake and island. Now that the lake wall has been completely renovated, the lake will continue to fill naturally with water. Once the water has reached a safe level the fence will be removed.
