Guttenberg resident Marisol Montañez, executive assistant to the Town of Guttenberg Administrator, was honored by Hudson County for her lasting impact on the community. Marisol was one of 13 women to receive the accolade at a ceremony during Women’s History Month.
The annual presentation was themed this year to honor “women who fight all forms of discrimination against women.” Guttenberg Mayor Wayne Zitt and the town council nominated Marisol for the prestigious honor based on her history, background, and hard work on behalf of community members – especially children and senior citizens. The town also presented her with a proclamation naming her as Guttenberg’s 2018 Woman of the Year.
Marisol currently coordinates and is the event planner for all of Guttenberg’s senior events and activities. She is a member of Hudson Community Action Corporation and the Guttenberg Board of Education, and serves as a commissioner on the Guttenberg Housing Authority. She also volunteers extensively for town and police department events.
