Mayor Wayne Zitt and the town council are pleased to announce the acquisition of two new buses for the town, each accommodating 20 passengers, or 16 plus two wheelchairs. Both new vehicles are outfitted with wheelchair lifts.
The buses will be used by Guttenberg’s senior services and community affairs departments, and for the free weekend shuttle throughout town. In addition to being modern, safer vehicles, they have improved heating and air conditioning, and are considerably more comfortable than the buses they replace.
Weekdays the buses are used to transport senior citizens on daily shopping trips and to regular activities. They will also be used for transportation to and from the many events that Guttenberg sponsors.
In addition they will be utilized by the recreation department throughout the year and during Guttenberg’s popular six-week summer camp for kids.
