The Town of Guttenberg was extremely fortunate to once again host Santa Claus for an annual parade through our streets on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017. Beginning at the waterfront community alongside River Road, Santa and his motorized sleigh made his way across to the other end of town and then wound his way from neighborhood to neighborhood spreading cheer.
Accompanying him on his journey were Mayor Gerald Drasheff and Council Members Monica Fundora and John Habermann, along with countless volunteers and part-time elves, handing out candy canes to lucky spectators.
The parade was preceded by the 3rd annual gift giveaway for kids, with well over a hundred local children receiving free toys, games, and other goodies. Gifts were provided by donations from local businesses and residents, and from the Township of North Bergen, which generously supplied items from their annual toy drive.
